Submission Contract and Guidelines

    Contract:
By submitting your work to Fiction Portal, you are confirming that it is your own original work, and giving limited exclusive publishing rights to Fiction Portal.  Fiction Portal will only publish in a digital format and only on the site “http://www.fictionportal.blogspot.com”.  Fiction Portal revokes its exclusive rights a period of 14 days after the work was finalized and submitted. Any time after the 14 day period has expired the original author or his/her estate may request that a piece be removed from the site.  If no such request is made, the piece will remain indefinitely.
Submissions must contain original work, characters and settings, or, alternatively, those that have passed into the public domain.  Plagiarism will not be tolerated.
If you understand and accept the agreement, paste the contract into the top of your submission email and type your full name in the parenthesis to serve as your digital signature (......)

    Submissions:

    Works should not be submitted in a raw format; the story should be readable, and not contain glaring spelling and grammar mistakes. The email submission should contain a signed Contract, and contain all information requested within the Submission Guidelines.
    Works should be submitted in a format readable by Word or Open Office(.doc, .rtf, etc.).  Works should also be submitted in a format that retains... formatting(Page indentations, font choices, etc.).  Font Size and selection should be kept within reason.  The file should be sent as an attachment to the email or as a Google Doc.  It will be re uploaded as a Google Doc attached to the FictionPortal account.
    All submissions should be submitted to the email address FictionPortal@gmail.com.

    Submission Guidelines: (Paste this sheet filled in below the contract)

Email subject line:  (SUBMISSION: NAME OF STORY/PIECE)

1.) Subject/Genre Tag (Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Western, Romance, Slice-of-Life, Realistic, Poetry, Be Creative, feel free to go outside genre, but try and find a category so users can find what they’re looking for.)
2.) Title
3.) A Short Description of the Story
4.) Incomplete or Complete (Chapters 1 and 2/?)
5.) 5 Words you would use to describe your story
6.) Content warnings: Violence, Graphic Violence, Sexual Content, Language, Sexual actions, religious or philosophical nature/messages.
7.) Author Name

    General Story/formatting Guidelines:

1.) Write in American or British English.
2.) Make new paragraphs for each speaking character for clarity’s sake(This can be played with, but is a good guideline.)
3.) Try to indicate scene changes through extra empty lines or -----, or similar formatting choices(Again, can be played with)
4.) Avoid explicit pornography in the works, and avoid overly-intricate descriptions of torture and gore. (Exceptions may be made, but only on a case-by-case basis)
